Public Engagement

All private philanthropy is most effective when it is leveraged against change in the (much larger) publicly-funded system. 

No sector, and no single problem, fits that paradigm better than public education. At CityBridge, we understand that the long-term goal of closing the educational achievement gap for lower-income children can only be reached through public sector change. Beyond our own projects—conceived as pilots that will build a market for effective early education—we know we need to engage the city, to make our work and our service available to public leaders, and to take every opportunity to promote this work.
